“Lucky for you I’m pretty good at cooking then”, Raen chuckled, “It’s not healthy to eat too much takeout, you know.” Pretty good wasn’t exactly what most people would call Raen’s cooking skills, he had become extremely skilled at it since Roman left home. Raen presenting as an omega hadn’t been a surprise for anyone – they had anticipated it, actually – and even though their father was usually the one who could be painfully old-fashioned, their mother stuck to some traditions as well. She had taught Raen to cook from a young age, saying every omega needed to know how to cook. As if that didn’t apply just generally to everyone. Luckily Raen had discovered he actually enjoyed cooking.
He settled into a comfortable silence then with his food and focused on the movie they’d put on. Leaning against Roman, he almost fell asleep towards the end of the movie, having been overly excited and woken up much too early that morning. He’d never really been a morning person in the first place, so now he was exhausted. Blinking his eyes open stubbornly when they kept closing on their own, Raen yawned and straightened from his place nearly on top of Roman by now. “Sorry, must’ve nodded off for a bit”, he sighed, running a hand over his face, “It’s too early to sleep, but how about we unpack a few more boxes – slowly – and then I can go to bed without having to be embarrassed for passing out too early?”
Raen flashed Roman a small grin, before picking up their dishes and taking them to the kitchen. “Speaking of… are you sure you’re not letting me take the couch?”, he asked, crossing his arms and coming back to stand in front of Roman, “I mean, you should be allowed to sleep in your own bed after all. I don’t mind sleeping on the couch.”
He brightened then, his smile turning a little mischievous, “Or, we could both sleep in your bed! It’s a double bed after all, there’s plenty of room for both of us.”
